June 1, 1947 - October 23, 2023

Carolyn Yvonne Mills Allen, of Fayetteville was born in Winston-Salem on June 1, 1947 and transitioned on October 23, 2023 surrounded by family. She is survived by Theodore L. Allen Sr, (husband); Jamila (daughter); Theodore Jr. (son); grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn survived by Brothers (nine), many devoted cousins, aunts, uncles and extended families. Graduated from Paisley High School (1965) and NC Central University (1970); A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Received a Master's Degree in Sociology from Tennessee State University and employed at Meharry Medical College as Administrative Assistant for family medical practices. Carolyn was an English Teacher, based in Seoul, Korea; a staunch advocate of Voting and Democracy Rights; held a lifelong passion for collecting antique and [Black] dolls. A member of the Lafayette Doll and Toy Club, the NC Museum of Dolls, Toys, and Miniatures; as well to the United Federation of Doll Collectors; Distinguished member in the National Institute for American Doll Artist (NIADA).Carolyn remained a loving and caring Matriarch, loyal to family, friends, community and principles. Carolyn's life accomplishments flourish from devotion to prayer, intense determination and willpower.

Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11 a.m., a Memorial Service at 635 Ontario in Street Winston-Salem 27105 Hosts: "Seasons of Love - A Celebration of Life" and Repast to follow with family and friends.
