URBANA – Harold Ray Ferrell, 86, of Urbana passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Harold was born on April 5, 1937, near Delbarton, West Virginia to the late John and Louisa (Chafins) Ferrell.
A graduate of Birch High School, Delbarton, W.Va, Harold would go on to graduate from Marshall University before moving to Ohio, where he retired from management at Navistar. In his free time, Harold enjoyed raising sheep, horse racing, visiting Las Vegas, and golfing. He was always one for a quick-witted joke and loved his family deeply.
Harold is survived by his son, Darrin Ferrell; daughter, Wendy (Kelby) Moore; grandchildren, Jordan, Courtney, Teryn, Jessa, Devyn, and Brooke; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Carole.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 40-plus years, Joyce Ferrell; and son, Doug Ferrell.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, in ATKINS-SHIVELY-VERNON FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, Ohio.
A Memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tina Fox officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.
