Bruce Barney Obituary

URBANA - Bruce Steven Barney, age 74, passed away Oct. 8, 2023. He was born May 3, 1949 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Joseph and Margaret Barney-Wallin.

Bruce is survived by his loving daughter, Brenda (Barney) Lackey, grandchildren, Calyssa, Caitlynn, Kelsey and Krista, great-grandchildren, Bryson and Brody, and siblings, Joe, Mike, and John. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Casey Barney, siblings, Dale, Randy, and David, and partner, Lisa Courter.

Bruce worked for Navistar for over 25 years until his eventual retirement. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He always went to his great-grandson, Bryson's, ball games. Bruce also loved to be out in nature. He spent time out in Alaska with his family hunting and enjoying the outdoors. He was also an avid coin collector and loved his dog Mac. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at the WALTER AND LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m.
