Pam Tighe Obituary

Our Pam left us following a long battle with frontotemporal dementia on July 5, 2023. Pam was an accomplished professional and a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. She was loved by family, friends, and colleagues for her kindness, loyalty, generosity, and ability to find laughter and joy in everyday life. Born in Bronxville, NY, Pam grew up in Wood River, IL and Scarsdale, NY. She moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona, met her beloved husband, and started a family and a long, accomplished career in commercial title insurance. In addition to work, her passions included gardening, travel (with a particular fondness for cities), holidays, Volkswagen Beetles, sailboats, St. Thomas, Lolly, Charlie, family, and her many dear friends. Pam is survived by her daughter Meghan, son-in-law Mayukh and granddaughter Veda, sisters-in-law Ellen, Madge Margarita (Peter), Mary Lou, and Marlene, brother-in-law David, nieces and nephews Shannon, Sean, and Arielle, and great grandniece Teagan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Merkus, her brother Peter, her husband Jack, son John, and father and mother-in-law John and Helen.

I knew Pam in college as she was one of my fun sorority sisters. She and Sue Ellen loved to terrorize me as an in coming freshman. I adored them both but given the task to improve our scholastic achievements I would often just say to them both, "Stay in your room and be quiet.........please!" She was great fun and truly a professional later in her real estate/mortgage business. She was thought of as one of the best in tucson.......simply put THE BEST! I was in that circumstance one of her vendors and always appreciated her humor and our lunches. I offer hugs to her family and to Pam as I know she is around.....

Pam and I were friends since 7th grade when she moved to Roxana, IL from Southern California. She was used to changing schools due to her father“s job, but moving to a very small where there was little change was different. But she quickly became a Roxana Shell, and made good friends! She was fun, outgoing, smart and self assured. I will miss her very much.

Oh, my, I was trying to find out where Pam was but everyone seemed to have lost track of her.
I took over as branch manager @ the ST&T El Dorado branch, replacing Pam, as Pam was taking over the Special Projects Commercial Escrow unit @ the main office.
Pam was quick witted and fun to be around. She was always willing to share her knowledge. Anytime I was downtown, I would stop in to visit her @ Lawyer's Title. She always made time for a fun, catch-up quick visit.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to contact her before her departure from this world.
My sympathy to her extended family.
