Sidney "Sid" Robinson

March 16, 1939 - October 24, 2023

Sid R. Robinson, 84, of Lambertville, MI, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Sid was born on March 16, 1939, to George W. and Mabel (Montgomery) Robinson in Monroe, MI. In 1958, he graduated from Ida High School and went right into auto repair as a mechanic. He was employed with various garages.

In 1958, he met the love of his life Virginia "Ginger", at the Rollercade in West Toledo and they were married in November, 1961.

In the early 60's, Sid began working for McCoy's Service as a mechanic. In the 70's, he and his business partners acquired McCoy's Service. They operated McCoy's until his retirement at age 77 in 2016.

In his spare time Sid enjoyed boating on Lake Erie, snowmobiling and bowling. McCoy's sponsored their own team for over 25 years at the old Westland Lanes, Toledo.

In 1977, Sid and Ginger purchased a lake home in Michigan where they would spend weekends with family and friends, enjoying fishing, snowmobiling and the "Lake Life".

Sid was preceded in death by his parent;, brothers, Clayton, Lyle, and Arlie; and sisters, Irene, Alice and Sylvia; and his infant daughter, Diane Sue.

Surviving Sid are his loving wife of over 58 years, Ginger; sons, Brian (Pamela) and Marc (Missi); grandchildren, Brian Joseph (Bridgette) Robinson, and Lauren and Grant Robinson; step-grandchildren, Dan (Jessie) Dlugosielski, Andrew (Stephanie) Dlugosielski, and Caitlin (Matt) Nevers; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Werner; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman Road), Temperance, MI on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Whiteford Union Cemetery, Whiteford Twp., MI.
