Wade, Malcolm H. "Buster"
GRANVILLE - Malcolm H. "Buster" Wade passed away on October 19, 2023, at his sister's home in Ballston Lake following a long illness.
Buster was born on November 14, 1934, in Hampton, N.Y., the son of the late Harold and Claire (Porter) Wade. He was a proud Army veteran serving from 1957-1959.
Buster was many things to many people and did them all with love and a sense of humor. His proudest roles were that of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had many jobs throughout his life, but the top one was that of a tree surgeon, having started Wade Tree Service. Buster will be remembered with a chainsaw in his hand. He also did snowplowing and drove school buses in addition to long-haul trucking.
Buster enjoyed many hobbies and activities, some of which were snowmobiling, horses, truck pulls, demolition derbies, and hunting. He served as a volunteer firefighter in the Henry Hose Fire Company in Granville. Buster had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a hand.
Buster was predeceased by his parents, siblings, Joy and Gary; and stepmother, Theresa Dessaint. Survivors include his children, Bart, Betsy Merrifield (Carl), Bret (Jonie), Eric (Sherri), and Brian. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also left to miss him are his siblings, Judy (Gary) Gibbs, Chuck Wade, Linda Wade Griffin, Sherril (Rhonda) Wade, Kathe Wade, Cindy Wade, Glenna Ellis, and Sue Stetson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville. Following the visitation, a celebration of Buster's life will be held at the Granville American Legion Post 323 Hall, 10 Columbus St., Granville. Burial will be on Sunday, October 29, at 11 a.m. in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle.
