COHOES - On October 23, 2023, Jane Jarvis, 88, left our side to enter Heaven.
She was born on April 14, 1935, to Virginio (Al) and Anne (Michaud) Dassatti in Bennington, Vt. She grew up in Cohoes and graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy in 1953. School was always a part of her life. She was in the mother's club when her children started school. Later, she was hired as the school secretary until its closing in the mid-1980s.
Jane married her school sweetheart Ernie Jarvis on May 8, 1954, and started their family of Larry and Kathy. She enjoyed family camping trips throughout the Adirondacks surrounded by many family and close friends. Later, they were snowbirds in Florida for many years.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, Virginio and Anne Dassatti; her husband, Ernest Jarvis; and her son, Lawrence Jarvis. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy, and her son-in-law, Richard Moore; her grandchildren, Bryan (Stacy) Dowling, Jennifer (Erik) Leonard, Lori (Christopher) Murphy, Lindsey (Richard) Wall; her great-grandson, Connor Dowling; Larry's fiancée, Patrice Yager; and her sweet little dog, Teddy.
We are deeply thankful to the caring staff of Samaritan Hospital's E.R. and fifth floor, and the Eddy Village Green Building 22.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, at 11 a.m. in the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia St., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
