Patricia Arrighi Obituary

ARRIGHI, Patricia Claire, Richmond, Virginia - Patricia C. Arrighi Esq. (Johnson/Lallone) (Feb. 17, 1949 - Oct. 22, 2023) died suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly next to her bed at The Westmont retirement community in Short Pump, Virginia. this past Sunday morning of Oct. 22nd. She is survived by her only child and son Travis Johnson, her two grandchildren David and Jessica, two great grandchildren Raylene and Antonio, her beloved cat Abby Rose and three ex-husbands (all former military/police...yes she preferred a man in uniform, but always held a soft spot for Tom Selleck).

She was born in Oakland, California to Joseph and Claire (Mikki) Lallone, and her sister Ginny Horlings, all three of whom she now joins. She was raised in Modesto, California and was a graduate of Downey High School. She eventually settled in Richmond, Virginia where she attained her B.S. and M.A. Degrees from VCU, quickly followed by her J.D. Degree from the University of Richmond. She began her career as a criminal attorney and was an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the city of Richmond. In later years she moved into Workers Compensation law and was a Deputy Commissioner with the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission for some time. She was a wicked good attorney. If she represented you, you were guaranteed the best...and if she was against you, well...good luck with that! Her career was mercilessly cut shorter than she would have liked in 2021 due to the onset of the only thing stronger than her...Dementia.

She enjoyed regular gambling trips to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. and the Delano in Las Vegas, Nevada (poker & blackjack) and I'm happy to report she mostly broke on the right side of even. She enjoyed reading the paper every morning, Wheel of Fortune followed by our lifelong favorite, Jeopardy...and any show about cats and dogs.

She was a long time parishioner of St. Anthony's Maronite Church (4611 Sadler Rd. Glen Allen, Virginia 23060) and her memorial service will be held there (Viewing at 10 a.m., Service at 11 a.m.) on Wednesday Nov. 8th 2023 directly followed by burial service at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park (11220 Nuckols Rd. Glen Allen, Virgnia 20359).

An impromptu reception/wake will be held at The Pour House Bar&Grill (4 p.m. same day)(3438 Pump Rd. Henrico, Virginia 23233) where the entire bar joined in singing her last Happy Birthday song to her this past February and where so many strangers have become heroes and friends to the family in helping her the past couple years. She was more than my mother...she, was my best friend. So, today, right now, tell everyone you love that you love them, because, trust me...Time doesn't hear if you ask it to wait. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Allied Animal Hospital in support of her beloved Abby Rose (7209 W. Broad St. Richmond, Virginia 23294, Phone#804-672-7200).

It's really nice to read these tributes a year later. Pat left strong impressions are her work friends and great memories for Travis and her nieces. I remember her support to her sister Ginny during difficult times.
Lots of nice remembrances of you, Pat.

I only learned of Pat's passing today and I apologize for sending such a late condolence. I knew Pat as a Deputy Commissioner, but later had many cases against her when she was defending cases at PennStuart. She was a formidable opponent but always honest and upfront. In our many phone conferences, hearings and at seminars we often talked about friends and family. I considered her a good friend. She will be missed.

I have good memories of being with my Auntie Pat at Christmas in Modesto. We all got to be together and that was all that was important. Watching Carol Burnett and opening presents. Then I got to spend Christmas with Auntie Pat when I was an adult in Arizona, with mom and Mark. We would have good talks.she always treated me like an adult, she was quick witted and smart ,and so pretty I always admired her looks. I'm glad she will be back with mom and Grammy and grandpa . I love you Auntie Pat.

My condolences to her family and friends. I knew her through my law practice, as a former neighbor, and through Rotary. I always enjoyed our conversations. May she rest in peace.

What a beautiful tribute to your Mom, Travis. You captured her spirit with such wonderful warmth and humor.

Auntie Pat always made everything feel so special when we'd get together at Grammy's for the holidays when I was a kid. When I was about four or five, I remember thinking that she was so gorgeous and stylish and fun to be around that it was like spending Christmas with a movie star. She was the type of aunt that made you feel lucky to be part of her family, and she was always so sweet to me and Kelly. I feel so grateful that my kids and I all got to have her in our lives and that I have so many wonderful memories of her.

I will always love you, my Auntie Pat, and I miss you. I'm comforted knowing that you are with your parents and your sister in heaven and that you are all together again as a family.

Saddened to hear of Pat's passing. Knew her at Downey High School and developed a friendship through Rally and Tri-Y. My favorite memory was skiing with Pat who was a very good skier. My prayers are with Pat's family and loved ones.
