Margaret Patterson Obituary

PATTERSON, Margaret J, 92, of Ashland, departed this world on October 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents; Leslie A. and Edith B. Jordan, her husband; Clarence L. Patterson, and grandson; Thomas H. Stanley. She is survived by her children; Michael Patterson (Tammy) and Sharon P. Stanley (Lee), grandsons; Christopher Patterson (Olivia), Ben Stanley (Logan Richardson), Jack Stanley (Emily), and her great-grandson; Owen Patterson. Margaret graduated from the Old Glen Allen High School and worked for Southern States in Richmond. After raising her family, she worked for the Wilkinson Printing Company. Margaret was a longtime member of the Hunton Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, participated in many activities, and was known for her coconut pie. Previously, she belonged to the Biltmore Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and always looked forward to Christmas, her favorite time of year. The family wishes to thank the staff of Covenant Woods, as well as the nurses and doctors of Memorial Regional Hospital for their outstanding care during Margaret's last weeks.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at Independence Christian Church, 14023 Independence Rd, Ashland, VA 23005, on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. The service will follow the visitation, starting at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Hunton Baptist Church and The Arc of Hanover.
