Janice Ferrell Obituary

FERRELL, Janice McCoy, Janice McCoy Ferrell, 98, of Chesterfield, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Stork McCoy and Lily Agnes Linkous McCoy; her husband, Jack Richard Ferrell, Sr.; her brother, Rev. Clifton C. McCoy; her sister, Lurlene McCoy Duncan, and her beloved grandfather, William E. Linkous. Janice was a woman before her time. She retired from Defense General Supply after over 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of Enon Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. Janice enjoyed all types of music and liked to play the piano and organ. Janice was also a member of the Red Hat Society and like spending time at the Outer Banks. Most of all, however, Janice cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Janice is survived by her children, L. Patricia Ferrell (Harold Ferrell-Locke), Jack Ferrell Jr. (Brenda), and Cheryl Ferrell (Larry G. Allen - deceased); her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jack III, Janice, Duane, Brian, and Suzanne; her great grandchildren, Campbell, Jackson, Addison, Wendy, Jane, Brent, Charles "C.J.", Jessie, and Lacey; her great-great grandchildren, Marcel and Ryan; her special niece, Darryl Childress; close friend, Alan Ishikawa; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Chester Chapel. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, October 23, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the service at Bermuda Memorial Park.
