Betty Sanders Obituary
Born in Bulloch County, she devoted her life to fine arts and to her own artwork.
She graduated from the University of Georgia School of Art in 1947. The art department at Georgia Southern University is named after her.
While serving as First Lady, she helped design the Governor's mansion.
Sanders was 95 years old.

My first job in Georgia was as a speechwriter for Governor Sanders. I had the honor and pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Sanders and the children. I'm the proud owner of one of her paintings. She represented, to me, all that was warm and gracious about the people of Georgia.
