Abigail Hamilton Obituary

Abigail Renee Hamilton Aaron ("Abby") was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 16, 1966 to Edmond Herschel Hamilton (deceased) (Charlene) and Anna Jobes Hamilton. Abby passed away on October 23, 2023 after a brief illness, with her devoted husband, Houston Michael Aaron and family members by her side. Abigail attended St. George Catholic School in Baton Rouge and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1984. A lifelong Tiger fan, Abigail graduated from L.S.U. after jokingly accumulating more credit hours than anyone in the university's history! Abby devoted her life to the service of others and causes she believed in. She spent many years working in the restaurant industry where her love of catering and special events planning truly blossomed. Later, Abby headed the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's operations and fundraising in Louisiana and Mississippi. She continued her support of JDRF until her last days. Most recently, Abby formed AHA Consulting LLC where she continued to amaze everyone with her ability to attend to the smallest detail so that every event was spectacular! And she did this with a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone involved in the production. Abigail was a long-time member of Artemis and was honored and proud to be Queen Artemis XXIII. She wore her crown with grace and as often as she could! Abby was also a BigWig in 2018, raising funds for cancer research, which was another one of her causes. Abigail loved a parade and participated in many St. Patrick's Day and Muses parades. She was the quintessential Queen Bee! Abby loved and lived to travel – she and Mike regularly visited Spain, Italy and France, and touched down in nearly all of the Caribbean islands. They also enjoyed twenty Michelin starred restaurants and countless other stellar restaurants in their quest to find the perfect food, wine and atmosphere. Her two favorite restaurants were Quince (San Francisco) and Epicure (Paris). In their trips to the Caribbean, Abby and Mike enjoyed scuba diving. As one of the few Type I diabetic divers, Abby had extra instructions and protocols to follow, but she continued to share her love of the ocean with Mike on their trips. Abigail was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edmond and Ruby Hamilton, Homer and Ruth Jobes Heflin and Jack Heflin. Abigail is survived by family who loved her dearly: husband, Houston Michael Aaron; mother, Anna Jobes Hamilton; brother Shane Hamilton (Marguerite) and his son, Ashton; sister Mary Hamilton (Michael LeBlanc) and her sons Carson Rhodes and Porter Heywood; brother Brett Hamilton and son, Dylan; brother Chad Hamilton (Tracy) and their children Whitney, Grace and Brock; step-sister Brandi Strickland (Thomas Brignac) and her daughter, Britney Nall; stepson, Houston Michael "Chip" Aaron II (Kristen) and their children Dalton, Emerson, Griffin and Vivian; and stepson, Christopher Joseph "Chris" Aaron (Kameron) and their children Christopher and William. Abigail's extended family also includes many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and godchildren, who are forever changed by her presence in their lives. Her precious Brussels Griffons, Jac and Marcel, will surely be a source of comfort to Mike in the days to come. Visitation will be Monday, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. A mass of Christian burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to JDRF, Southern States Chapter. Please include that your donation is in memory of Abigail Hamilton. Abby was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt, Mimi, friend and source of love and light. We will miss her but take comfort in knowing that we will see her again.

Having got to know much of the Hamilton and and Aaron families I have to say I was overwhelmed with the love and support Abby received today but also not surprised at all. I feel blessed that to have experienced her life at a multitude of levels from early high school friend to my sister , her husband to her brothers and sisters. She was way special. I hope to celebrate her for year to come. She was an anomaly. My prayers are with Mike, first and foremost, Mary, Carson and Porter and Chad Tracy, Whitney, Grace and.Brock. Not sure I have ever known a greater family of people. Love to you all!
