Gerald Fenwick Brush, Jr.
October 15, 1947 - September 19, 2023
Gerald ((Jeff) Fenwick Brush, Jr., 75 of Orinda, California passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on September 19, 2023.
Jeff was born in Oakland, California in 1947 to Nancy Miller Brush and Gerald Brush. He was raised in Piedmont, graduating from Piedmont High School after a few years at Robert Louis Stevenson School. He attended the University of Oregon, graduating in 1969 with a major in History. He spent two years as an Army officer in Viet Nam. Upon his return he joined his family in the brokerage business where he worked for 50 years.
Jeff married a fellow Oregon alum, Christina Erickson in 1980. They moved to Lafayette, California where they were blessed with four children. He delighted in fatherhood, coaching and cheering on his kids in all their activities.
Jeff was passionate about all the local sports teams but, most importantly, his Oregon Ducks.
He loved golfing, reading and listening to music on his long walks. He treasured times spent at Alta, a family home in the mountains that shaped his childhood, and that of his children.
Jeff's humor, warmth and kindness will be deeply missed. He was a true gentleman and his love of people emanated through his many friendships and acquaintances. He had the ability to make anyone feel at home, welcome and understood. He faced his health battles with a quiet determination and strength.
Jeff is survived by his wife Christina, and his four children and their families; Adam (Lauren) Brush, Peter (Justine) Brush, Eric Brush and Emily (Mike) Robitz and grandchildren, Piper Brush and Nell Robitz. He is also survived by his siblings, Spencer Brush, Trudy Daggett and Anne La Plante.
