Marion Schmidt Obituary
Northport, NY - Marion L. Schmidt, 96, of Northport, NY passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2023, surrounded by her adoring family.
She was born on September 2, 1927, to Mildred and James Stokes in Queens, NY.
Marion is survived by her beloved brother Herbert and sister-in-law Marianne of Portland, OR, her cousin Sondra Shane of Glen Cove, NY her son James and her daughter-in-law Laurie (whom she considered a daughter) of Northport, NY, Gerard and daughter-in-law Lynn of Ridgewood, NJ, daughter Nancy and son-in-law Henry of Tarpon Springs, FL, daughter Linda and son-in-law Michael of Erving, MA, grand daughters Jacqueline Schmidt, Meredith Gralenski, Sophia Passerini, Marina Schmidt and Olivia Schmidt and grandsons Eric Schmidt, David Gralenski and Henry Passerini.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles in1997.
Marion deeply loved and treasured her children throughout their lives. She has without exception considered becoming their mother the crowning achievement of her life. She delighted in the birth of her beautiful grandchildren and cherished each of them.
Marion earned a nursing degree and practiced nursing for many years, administering care with the utmost compassion.
Marion saw the good things in people and inspired others to do the same. She was a good, friendly and Godly person and viewed her life in a positive way.
Marion enjoyed antiquing, yard sales, fine art, music and literature. She was A curious lifelong learner and avid reader of many subjects.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on December 2 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's of Padua Roman Catholic Church in E. Northport, NY.
