Robert "Bob" Lee Gebo
April 15, 1948 - Oct. 4, 2023
HUDSON FALLS- Robert "Bob" Lee Gebo, 75, of Hudson Falls passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 in Hudson Falls, NY.
Born on April 15, 1948, in Granville, he was the child of the late Mary Gebo. Bob and Mary were the definition of a mother-son bond. They were reunited while he was surrounded by his family on earth-side.
Bob graduated from Whitehall where he and his cousin, Terry Hilder, joined the United States Army out of high school and fought for their beloved country in the Vietnam War. While he didn't talk about it, he was proud to serve and was found frequently watching the history channel about the wars.
He met his wife, Corasue, while working at GE and got married on August 3, 1974. 49 years of marriage, full of love, laughter, tears and memories were shared.
Growing up, his love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, were where you could find him. His love for these things continued when his wife, Corasue, blessed him with three sons whom he would teach to love the outdoors as much as him.
Later in life, he could be found outside in his yard weeding in the garden, mowing his beautiful lawn, taking a nap with his cat Snoop and Puma, or drinking an ice cold beer under the apple tree in his backyard.
He was a quiet man of few words. Husband, father, cousin, friend, he was surrounded by people who knew his "grumpy look" was just that, a look. His guard could easily be broken in his softer years by his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Corasue Gebo; sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Marianne Stark, Timothy and Nicole Gebo, and Bryan Gebo and Erica Sala; grandchildren: Morgan Holcomb, Austin Trumbull, Adrieana Gebo (Sweetie), Kaleb Stark, Matthew Gebo and Emmalee Stark; and his great-grandchild, Gracelyn Gebo.
A special thank you to Dr. Charles Yun and the C.R. Wood Cancer Center for their care over the past five years. The care provided gave his family quality and quantity time.
Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Online remembrances may be made by visiting www.carletonfuneralhome.net.
