I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Donna at LCAR in Gary. She has such a compassionate heart for the individuals with developmental disabilities. She was so patient with them and loving. I never witnessed her complaining. We did activities together for the clients and I enjoyed EVERY moment. Her soft way of dealing with things have made a longing impression on my life. I remember one day we were going on a community outing with our clients and Mrs. Donna took her time in preparing everything for the trip in her own pace. Me on the other hand was rushing and felt she was moving too slow. Funny enough, she beat me to the site where we were going and I walked away with the lesson of Mrs Donna- "Slow and steady is the flow of wisdom". Rushing causes you to miss things.
Rest well Mrs. Donna. You deserve the harvest of love that you´ve poured into others for decades.

I am so sorry to hear of Donna's passing. I knew her from our Logan Park days all the way to Mt. Zion. She lead The Jesus Club for the children to keep them interested in praising God. My condolences to the entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.

Donna was my dear friend. She started calling me her "little Sista" so I started calling her my "big Sista" her last words to me were very encouraging. I remember years ago, I had to take some new medicine and she told me to make sure I prayed over it so there will not be any side effects. I still do that till this day and never any side effects. I'm going to miss her laugh and conversation. My prayers, love , and heart felt condolences go out to Deacon Yerger and all of her precious children and grandchildren! I love you all and I will continue to pray that The Father in Heaven will comfort your hearts and minds! Peace and Blessings!
