Robert Lanford "Robbie" Walters, 45, of
Troy, Alabama, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Glenwood, Alabama from a motorcycle accident. Born on October 7, 1980, in
Montgomery, Alabama, Robbie lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his work and hobbies, and a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ.
Robbie was a skilled engineer who worked for Wiley Sanders in Troy. Known for his hands-on approach and problem-solving abilities, he had a natural talent for working with computers and small machines. He shared this passion with his son Brady as they spent time rebuilding computers together. Robbie also enjoyed the outdoors, finding peace in hunting and fishing.
A proud southern man, Robbie valued the traditions and principles instilled by his family. He shared a close bond with his mother Sue McLendon of Glenwood. He also cherished his relationships with his stepfather Ricky McLendon of Glenwood and father Leon Walters of Grady.
Robbie had finally found the "love of his life" and "happily ever after" with longtime friend Jodi Grissett of Troy. They were planning their upcoming wedding and future. He deeply cared for Jodi's mother Kaye Grissett and helped care for her.
Robbie is survived by his son Brady Walters; mother and stepfather Sue and Ricky McLendon; father Leon Walters; paternal grandfather Robert Walters of Grady; siblings: Michael Walters (Rebecca) of Troy, April Hollingshead (Wayne) of Hayneville, Brian McLendon (Kayla) of Goshen, Zachary McLendon (fiancée Selena Atwell); fiancée Jodi Grissett of Troy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Louise and James Lanford Sullivan of Grady and paternal grandmother Louise Walters of Lapine.
In addition to time spent with loved ones, Robbie enjoyed riding his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle-a testament to his adventurous spirit-and embraced life's simple pleasures. His faith was central to who he was; baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ, he carried that faith throughout his life.
Pallbearers will be Leon Walters, Michael Walters, Matt Walters, Zachary McLendon, Lewis Howard and John Hogan. Honorary pallbearers are Rickey McLendon, Brian Rayburn and Tyler McLendon.
