Pounds- Richard Edwin Pounds, age 74, of
Macclenny, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 9, 1951, in
DeLand, Florida, to the late Philip Clyde Pounds and Blondell Thompson Pounds. Richard graduated from Fletcher High School in 1970 and soon after made Baker County his home, where he built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and community. He enjoyed a long and successful career as an ironworker and was a proud member of Ironworkers Local Union 597 for many years. His strong work ethic and commitment to his trade earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. An active member of the Moose Lodge in Macclenny for many years, Richard valued fellowship and camaraderie. Outside of work, he was known for his boundless energy, athleticism, and love of adventure. He took great pride in maintaining his physical strength through weightlifting and staying active. Richard had a passion for racing motorcycles and go-karts, and he enjoyed honing his skills in target practice, shooting, and archery. Balancing his adventurous spirit was a quieter side-he was an avid bonsai enthusiast who found joy and peace in cultivating and caring for his plants. More than anything, Richard enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by his stepmother, Bette Pounds of
