Surrounded by her family, MaryAnn Dewald, 91 passed away in her home Wednesday, March 4th, 2026.
MaryAnn was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Vincent and Yvonne (DePaepe) Moraschi on November 22, 1934. She was their only child.
On September 19,1953 she married the late (1997) James E. Dewald Sr.
Surviving are their five children Jim (Della) Dewald, Debby (Farrell) Holland, Sandy (Nick) DeCicco, Linda (Dennis) O'Donnell, George (Linda Buchtel) Dewald;14 Grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren whom she was very proud of each one.
MaryAnn was known for her unique card making and gift giving to her family and dear friends.
She was an amazing, classy, kind, and thoughtful woman. Her 37 years of sobriety was one of her greatest accomplishments on this earth, and through it she touched the lives of so many. We were truly blessed to have had her with us for so many years.
The Family would like to thank Caring Cove Hospice for all their compassionate and wonderful care for our dear mother, along with Liquids Therapy LLC.
Please join in a "Celebration of life" on March 22, 2026, from 4-6 pm at the De Amicis Club 302 W. 11th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. Grab a bite to eat and share some stories of MaryAnn's life.

Mrs. DeWald was a much-loved neighbor of our family for many years. Once Dad sold the house and moved, low and behold, there she was, his neighbor again. What a joy to have known her and to have had many opportunities to talk with her when visiting my Dad. She was always upbeat and smiling, asked after my brothers and sisters, had treats in her pocket for every neighborhood dog on her trips around Berkley Circle. MaryAnn was our front desk smile at Century 21 Jim Dunfee or maybe we had switched franchises to Weichert Realtors, but either office name, it was a please to work with her. She was always pleasant to guests coming into the office and a would take the time to ask each agent how they were doing that each day. I'm happy to have know MaryAnn.

There was only one Mary Ann on this planet. She touched me with kindness every time I saw her. Her kids are amazing and her love for them and caring for George never waivered. She has a legacy to be proud of and what we all aspire to.
