Mary Jane Worley, 64, of Bate City, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born in Fort Walton, Florida at Eglin Air Force Base to the loving family of Bennie Dean Peck and Frankie Jo Evans on May 18, 1957. Mary was raised on many Air Force bases during her childhood as her parents served our country. Later, Mary's family settled in Mexico, Missouri where she would go on to graduate from Mexico High School in 1975. After high school Mary attended Central Missouri State University where she held the State Title in Track and Field for the shot put, a record she would hold for several years.
After College, Mary began her career at Marion Labs in Kansas City, Missouri in their international shipping department and was a loyal employee for over 20 years. During Mary's first marriage to Rick Martin, they were blessed with a son, Jeremy. She was always an amazing mother and joined in on any activity Jeremy was apart of from baseball mom to just listening when he needed her.
Mary loved going on adventures and being out in nature. Her love of animals extended beyond her own, frequently volunteering to work with dog adoption programs. When she wasn't putting love into her garden or working in the yard, Mary could often be seen visiting with neighbors while out walking her dogs. Being exceptionally creative, she would express that through photography and designing her own various stationary gifts and cards for others. In 2005, she met Mike Worley and that same year, they were married on December 31. They would take multiple trips during their marriage including ATV riding in Utah, visiting multiple state parks, and going on a cruise to Alaska. During their marriage, she was an active volunteer both for her church and The American Red Cross.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Frankie (Evans) Peck, and her brother Edgar Peck. She is survived by her husband of 16 years Larry "Mike" Worley. Son Jeremy Martin (Katelyn), brother Mark, her fur babies Lexie, Milo, and Jazz, grand fur babies Charlie and Ben. Mary will be truly missed by many other extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.
