Mary Irene Williams, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 25, 2025. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Dana, Illinois.
Mary was a loving spouse, mother and "Grandma Mary".
She was a devoted Catholic who loved Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother. She was a proud lifelong member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
She spent most of her time caring and caregiving for others, especially for her "Lloyd ". She loved needle point, sewing, crocheting, music, and her roses. She was the garage sale queen with her garage sale king Lloyd. For the past few years, after having RA for so long and missing her husband, she wasn't able to get around to good. She found herself with a computer stylus in her hands, she could paint pictures on her iPad. She spent countless hours coloring pictures the best she could with pencils. Most of all, she loved BIG. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. She loved BIG, we will miss her BIG.
She is survived by her son, Mark Thomas Williams (Teresa); four grandchildren, Ashley Kristin Saylor, Jason Thomas Hammer, Michael Lee Hammer, Kelly Jane Hammer; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Melvin Williams; her son, Lloyd Michael Williams; her granddaughter, Tricia René Williams; and her parents, Ray and Irene Green.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. She will be laid to rest at Round Hill Cemetery.
