Elaine Lewin Obituary

Elaine Zeff Lewin, age 85, born February 20, 1939 passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear and caring friend.
Elaine combined her kind and sweet ways with incredible strength to stay with us until the very end. She loved her family and wanted to be with them every minute possible. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Lewin, her Grandson Jack Madison and her Parents, Bess and Nathan Zeff. Elaine is survived by her family Carrie (Andy) Madison, Connie (Craig) Tuckerman, and Adam (Stephanie) Lewin, beloved sister Rita Levit, and adored Grandchildren, Marissa Madison, Georgia Tuckerman, Arie Tuckerman, Charlie Tuckerman, Lola Lewin, Mila Lewin, Gage Lewin and many cherished relatives and friends.
Elaine was a lifetime resident of Bexley, Ohio and graduated from Bexley High School in 1957 and graduated from The Ohio State University. She was high school classmates with her future husband, Milton Lewin. Elaine and Milton established themselves and their family in the Central Ohio community supporting causes dear to them such as Tifereth Israel, the JCC, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, the James Cancer Hospital, and many other organizations. Elaine had her own passions and volunteered for various community organizations.
Together, Elaine and Milton lead the second generation of Hamilton Parker Company building customer relationships and friendships that still stand today. She maintained relationships with friends from elementary school, work and later in life, she valued these relationships to the very end. Family was her passion and her greatest joy of all was being a mother, mother in law, and her grandchildren's "Meme/MeeMee/Queen."
Elaine lived an incredible life filled with love and warmth. She was truly loved by everyone and will be missed because of her sweet and tender ways toward us all.
The family wants to thank those who helped Mom over the years: Doctors at the The OSU Wexner Medical Center including Dr. Lawlor, Dr. Levine, and Dr. Ryan. Mom's incredible care takers:
Cathi, Cherri, Devin, Gertrude, Gayle, Jesse, Laurie, Leslie, and staff at The Perfect Companion, and Zusman Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Congregation Tifereth Israel, 1354 E. Broad St. Interment will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Connie and Craig Tuckerman on Sunday from 4-7 PM and Monday from 5-8 PM, minyan service at 5:30 PM.
The family requests that donations in Elaine's memory be made to the Jack Madison Memorial Fund, which was established in 2023 when her beloved grandson passed away.
