Donna Mahoney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frazer Cremations & Funerals - South Lyon on Feb. 19, 2026.
Donna Marie Mahoney, 86, passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2026, surrounded by her four daughters.

Born December 6th, 1939, to Thomas and Annis Harvey, Donna was the one of three siblings, with an older sister Pat and younger brother Mike. A graduate of Bentley High School, she married the love of her life, Thomas Mahoney, on September 12th, 1959. Over the next five years, their family grew with the arrival of four daughters: Lori, Kari, Staci, and Patti.

In her early years, Donna was a devoted stay-at-home mother, pouring her heart into raising her children with care and warmth. She never missed having dinner prepared at 5:30 pm and kept a well-organized and spotless house. Donna was a hands-on mom helping her daughters whenever asked. When going on vacation she packed the van with her famous fried chicken and hard boiled eggs for road trips to Florida and up north to Au Gres Michigan for visits with her parents. Then as her daughters grew older, she embarked on a 25-year career at Botsford General Hospital as an administrative secretary, retiring in 2008. Through every season of life, she remained the loving, steady heart of her family.

Above all, Donna's unwavering devotion defined her. She nurtured her four beloved daughters, her cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with endless love, guidance, wisdom, and quiet strength-standing by them through every joy and challenge. Her love for her husband, Tom, was especially profound and enduring; she cared for him tirelessly during his long illness, offering unwavering commitment, tenderness, and steadfast presence at his side.

Donna brought joy wherever she went. With her great sense of humor, boundless energy, she was up for anything. She adored music and dancing, especially family dance parties. She was a creative and crafty person from painting to macrame, knitting Afghans, and crochet… she enjoyed it all. She took great pride in her gardening, tending her flowers, and keeping a beautiful yard.

She lived a full, joyful life surrounded by a wide circle of good and faithful friends who shared laughter, support, and countless adventures. She loved to travel and has been to many beautiful places around the world. Donna and Tom were always up for fun: tennis matches, bowling, snowmobiling outings, canoeing down the river, card games, golf rounds, and plenty more. Most memorably, they loved a good party, especially those famous Fourth of July neighborhood gatherings. These legendary events, barbecues, dance parties were family focused drawing neighbors and friends together year after year. Donna's signature touch? Her famous whiskey and water-lots of ice in a tall glass with a lemon wedge.

Donna is survived by her daughters Lori Ann Lulek (Paul), Kari Marie Hering (Hugh), Staci Mahoney Campbell (Mark), Patti Mahoney Warren (Donald). Her cherished grandchildren: Erin (Nate) Dorland, Rachel (Evan) Hall, Courtney (Matt) Zatirka, Lindsey Lulek, Kayleigh Hering (Brian Herbon), Kellen (Veronica) Hering, Zachary (Nicole) Campbell, MacKenzie Nancarrow, Noah Campbell, Gabriella (Carl) Savona, Kanon Warren, Parker Warren and Nyla Warren And Her precious great-grandchildren: Carter, Onalee, Ellie, Emerson, Finnley, Cameron, Cruz, Grayson, Marston, Emmitt, Leni and Ariya

Donna's legacy lives on in the deep bonds she built, the unconditional love she gave so freely, and the beautiful family she helped create and hold together. She will forever be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect.

She was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband Thomas Joseph Mahoney and her parents Thomas and Annis Harvey.

A memorial service in Donna's honor will be held on Friday, February 27, 10:00 AM, at St. William Parish, 531 Common Street, Walled Lake, MI 48390.
