CINCINNATI, OH – Donna Ruth Anthe passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Clearwater, Florida of cardiac arrest. She was born on October 10, 1968 in Crestview Hills, KY. Donna was preceded in death by her father Donald Hale Anthe (2020) and her mother Ruth Flynn Anthe (2023). She is survived by siblings: Douglas Joseph Anthe, Susan Marie Anthe and Mark Flynn Anthe. Kathleen Anthe (Gene) Porter; two nephews, one niece and many Flynn-Heist cousins. Donna deeply loved her family and friends near and far.
Donna attended St. Pius X grade school in Edgewood KY and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, KY (Class of 1986). She was a natural performer since childhood and loved music. There were many a sing-a-longs and dancing around the silver age Seeburg (45’s!) at Mom & Dad’s. A jukebox or karaoke microphone, she could not resist. A huge fan of 80’s/90’s big-hair bands, her rock heroes included Eddie Van Halen and Slash. Donna had many interests. She was an avid piggy collector in various medium; was an active member in several charitable organizations. A dedicated employee at PetSmart in Oakley, OH, she was a perfect fit. Donna Ruth loved all animals and was a passionate animal advocate.
She was a proud homeowner and Dog Mom. She selflessly provided a safe home for many rescues over the decades. Her fur babies: Donald, Ruthie and Flynn have been re-homed with family members and Dobby the elder is lovingly living out his days at A Soft Landing Senior Rescue (Milford, OH).
Donna treasured her annual trips to Clearwater and made friends there. They’ve thoughtfully taken her on a Seadoo honor ride, spreading keepsake ashes into the ocean. She re-created her own Florida room at home, with outdoor pool and hot tub. Tho anyone was welcome at any time, Girl Power forwarded her to host monthly gatherings with girlfriends at what she called the ACC (Anthe Country Club). Donna had a lust for life. Whether driving her turbo charged muscle cars or feeling the wind whip through her hair on the back of a motorcycle. She was fierce, fearless, big-hearted and generous. A girly-girl-goofball who just wanted to have fun. Her clever wit and sense of humor may have been a bit irreverent at times but everyone can agree she was funny and always made you laugh!
Memorial contributions may be expressed to: A Soft Landing Senior Rescue, any animal charity or charity of choice.
