Romualda A. "Romay" Pavlick, 77, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 2nd at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 2nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator.
Born September 24, 1947 in Manila, Philippines she was the daughter of Mateo and Wenefreda (Alde) Callos. She married John A. Pavlick on March 21, 1985 in Long Beach, California.
She is survived by her husband, John Pavlick of Toney, Alabama; a daughter, Missy (Rob) Mathis of Newport, Tennessee; a son, Scott (Michelle) Pavlick of Temecula, California; grandchildren, Robbie, Isaac and Isabelle Mathis; Emma and Jackson Pavlick; great grandchildren, Robert Jackson and Evelyn Mathis; sisters, Perla (Jeff) Ignacio of West Covina, California and Joan (James) Nuncio of American Canyon, California; nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Romay was raised in a military family and they lived in many different areas including, France, Germany, Spain and the United States. They settled in the Pasadena, California area where she graduated from John Muir High School. She later studied at Pasadena Community College, Cal State L.A., UCLA and Calhoun College.
She worked most of career as Senior Software Test Engineer and retired as a Senior Software Test Scientist. She worked for Teledyne Brown Engineering from where she retired. In her retirement she continued to work independently as a consultant for various aerospace and engineering companies. She worked on defense testing projects for the United States Army and conducted experiments on the space shuttle and space station for NASA. Through the years she also had her own company Advanced Composite Technologies and Associates.
She had a passion for Hawaiian and Polynesian dancing something that has continued with her family after creating her own Halau to teach others in Alabama.
She was of the Catholic faith.
