HATTIE McCANTS Obituary

Age 85, A longtime resident of Mobile, AL was born June 21,1936 in Lower Peachtree, AL to the late Jack and Harriet Thomas-Odom; she exchanged this life for her heavenly home March 27,2022 at her residence Hattie retired from USA College after many years of service. She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church where she was very active in many capacities until her health begin to decline. Hattie was a loyal neighborhood activist, where she served diligently to improve the Mobile Terrace Community;The park is Co-named McCants-Shavers for her dedication. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow McCants, Sr, three brothers and 2 sisters. Hattie leaves to cherish her memories 8 Loving Children, Otha (Vanessa) Sr, Woodrow (Andretta),, Roy (Jeannette),and Victor (Patricnella) McCants, Wanda (Bryan) Grant, Natashia(Elywn) Spearman, Angela( Michael) Shelly and Karen (Kevin) Alexander. 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and a host of other Nieces, Nephews cousin other relatives and friends, The Evening of Remembrance viewing will be held Friday April 1,2022 from the Chapel of S.L Jackson Mortuary from 2:30PM-6PM and Saturday April 2,2022 at Friendship Baptist Church (545 N.Cody Rd) from 9am until the11am Life Celebration.
