To Paul and Rolf, I just learned of your mom's death in October today, Dec 11. I last saw her in September, when I made a quick stop to say hi. Since I was a kid, knowing your whole family has been a joy. I wanted to play the piano, but couldn't make my hands do separate thing. Your dad tried to help, but to no avail. I was forever envious of Karl and his ability to play. I remember waffles your mom made, and water fights we had as kids. I loved stopping in to see your mom over the years. Marion and Fred were wonderful people, and I am fortunate to have moved next door.
103 years is a long life, and I am sure it was a good one. I am sorry for your loss, and I will miss her very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you gathered today! Auntie Marion was a very special person with genuine love and warmth and an infectious sense of humor. I loved it when Uncle Fred and Auntie Marion came to visit us in Augusta or Owls Head. One day, during meal preparation, my mother sent me to stand in the corner of the dining room at Owls Head. I was probably about 10 years old. Auntie Marion came over to me and asked me if I knew how to talk without moving my lips. I was thrilled! She worked with me. Little did she know that one day I would become a singer and that bit of wisdom helped me and helped me teach young singers how to manipulate vowels without moving their lips!! She is greatly missed here on earth, but has achieved eternal rest in Heaven.
