Ruth Strong Obituary

Ruth Irene Strong, 95, of Cortland, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023 at The Gables of Westerville. She was born October 22, 1928 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Howard and Estella (Moore) Long. On November 27 1948 she married Harold Strong and they spent the next 60 years together until his passing on October 14, 2009. Ruth worked on the assembly line at Packard Electric for 30 years retiring in 1984. She loved to travel with her husband and playing Bingo. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lynn Strong of Westerville, OH, grandchildren; Michelle (Brad Cowgill) Strong of Westerville, OH; Erik Strong and Greg Strong of Westerville, OH, her great-grandchild, Rory Strong, as well as her sister, Lucille Sparks of Ironton, OH. She was preceded in death by her son, Clifford Strong, and her siblings, Chester, Judy, Eloise, Ambrose, Harold and Ruby. In accordance with Ruth's wishes a private service will be held. She was laid to rest next to her husband Harold in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, OH. Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is honored to assist with these arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make material contributions to a charity of your choice, in her memory.
