SPENCERVILLE – Catherine 'Cathie' E. Ulm, age 81, formerly of Delphos, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 27, 1942 in Lima to Fred W. and Florence M. (Kundert) Kershner, who both preceded her in death. On January 21, 1961, she married Ronald 'Ron' B. Ulm, who survives.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Pat) Krendl of Cridersville, Rhonda (Jay) Hager of Spencerville, and Brenda (Matt) Kimmett of Delphos; a brother, Carl Kershner of Dayton; six grandchildren, Leslie (Paul) Pruden, Andrea (Tom) Ricchiuto, Steven (Chelsea) Hager, Adrian, Zachary (Yvonia) and Eli Kimmett; and six great grandchildren, Sarah and Megan V0gt, Stella Hager, Teddy and Tommy Kimmett, and Luca Ricchiuto, two step great grandchildren, Nathan and Braxton Pruden; two bonus great grandchildren, Bentley and Lilly; one great great granddaughter, Josie; one step great great grandson, Beckett; and one bonus great great granddaughter, Aurora.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Euvrard.
Cathie was a homemaker that raised three wonderful daughters. Cathie and Ron enjoyed many motorcycle vacation adventures with their group of friends, traveling from the Smokies to out West. She was a talented seamstress making her girls' clothing, custom shirts for her husband, Barbie Doll clothing and prom dresses. Cathie was a Girl Scout leader who would ensure her troops had the best experiences camping, putting on plays and earning badges. Many may remember Cathie buzzing around Delphos in her British Racing Green 1967 Triumph Spitfire Convertible. Cathie sold Avon in Delphos for five years and loved the opportunity to meet and make many acquaintances and friends. As her children moved out of state, Cathie loved to travel to see the kids and grandkids. Cathie was also an accomplished pianist. Her girls' have fond memories singing Christmas songs as a family around the piano and of being lulled to sleep at night as their mother played.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, Pastor Harry Tolhurst, officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 and an hour before the service on Monday October 23, 2023. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Senior Citizens Center. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
