Janis E. Forster

Antrim NH - Janis E. Forster died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 4th, after a long illness. She was 81 years old.

Janis was born on August 17th, 1942, to John (Jack) and Ruth Godley of East Orange, New Jersey, where she grew up with her three sisters, Amy, Marion, and Joan.

Janis lived and worked in N.J. until her job as a flight attendant for National Airlines brought her to Miami, Florida, where she met her husband, Edward Forster. Together, they moved to Antrim, N.H. in 1971.

Janis's compassion and kindness were felt by everyone she met. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who cared deeply for her family. A joyful and empathetic presence and devoted friend, Janis was always ready with a thoughtful word of advice.

She was a woman of many talents and varied interests. She loved the outdoors, flying with her husband, travel, skiing, and a good book. She possessed a quick wit, was a good-spirited practical joker, and a formidable trivia opponent. Janis enjoyed the changing of the seasons and loved exploring the back roads and mountains of New Hampshire all year long.

Near and dear to Janis' heart was Pat's Peak Ski Area, in Henniker, NH. There she not only shared her lifetime love for skiing with her family, but it was a place where Janis was long employed. At Pat's Peak, Janis forged important friendships and made wonderful memories.

Janis is survived by her loving husband Ed, son Edward and wife Melanie, daughter Alison and husband Michael, son Benjamin, stepdaughter Cindy and husband Bruce, grandchildren Lauren, Jacob, Zoe, Aylissa, Bella, Benjamin, and Asher, sister Amy and husband Gene, nieces Janis and Lisa, nephews John, Dominic, Damian, Christian, and Stephen.

In remembrance of Janis, a reception will be held at Pat's Peak Ski Area, in Henniker, N.H. on Sunday, November 12th, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. where a Celebration of Life service will take place at 2:30 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent in Janis' memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
