Janet Benoit Obituary
Hancock NH - Janet L. Benoit, 86, of Keene, passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Friday, October 13th, 2023. She was born in Torrington, Connecticut, on August 23, 1937, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Mary (Arnott) Sparks.
Janet was always a social butterfly who loved the many relationships she built throughout her years. She especially loved her time in Hancock. She was particularly proud of being a part of the Hancock Fire Department's Auxiliary and being involved in their various endeavors. In her later years, Janet's compassion and love for animals grew strong. She liked to visit the Monadnock Humane Society to see the dogs and sometimes donate small items.
Janet is survived by her only daughter Holly, and her husband Michael Blanchette of Hancock; her second husband, Raymond Benoit of Keene; and her adored grandchildren, Alexis, Braden, Dana and their respective partners. Janet also had many, many cherished nieces and nephews who brought her great joy throughout her life.
She is predeceased by her seven sisters and her first husband, John L. Sullivan.
A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Hancock, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to the Hancock Fire Department, 40 Bennington Road, Hancock, NH 03449, or to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
