Jerry Wilcox Obituary
February 13, 1928 - November 11, 2023
Wichita, Kansas - Jerry Arden Wilcox, retired petroleum landman, died Saturday, November 11, 2023. Jerry was born on February 13th, 1928, in Quinton, OK to Obediah Anthony Wilcox and Bessie Imogene Parker Wilcox. Jerry was the ninth and last child born to his parents. When Jerry was seven years old his family moved to Coffeyville, KS where he graduated from the local high school and community college. After two years' service in the U.S. Army, Jerry enrolled at University of Tulsa where he earned a Master of Arts degree.
While at Tulsa, Jerry met a fellow student, Belva Ann Thompson. Jerry and Belva were married on September 4th, 1954. In January 1959, Jerry and his family moved to Wichita where he began his career with Petroleum, Inc.
Jerry and Belva had four children. They are Victoria Ann Jones (Mark), Jeffrey Thompson Wilcox (Bailey), Christopher Arden Wilcox (Sondra), and Andrew Parker Wilcox (Rachel).
Belva Ann Wilcox died in January 2005. Jerry later met and married Letah Jo Wiske Pepper. Letah Jo Wilcox died in November 2013.
Jerry is survived by his four children, 16 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, November 17, 2023, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. The burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. A memorial has been established with: Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 8021 W. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67205.
