Robert Vaillancourt Obituary

Robert "Bob" Everett Vaillancourt, 80, of East Hartford and formerly of Glastonbury, loving husband of over 58 years of Rose Mary (Kilduff) Vaillancourt, unexpectedly entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at his home. Born in Hartford on August 21, 1943, a son of the late Everett Vaillancourt and Loretta (Gagnon) Vaillancourt St. Laurent, he had been a resident of Glastonbury for 37 years prior to moving to East Hartford over three years ago. Bob was a graduate of Conard High School in West Hartford, class of 1961. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a furniture salesman for many years at Bob's Furniture Store in Manchester where he was known as "the other Bob".

A devout catholic, Bob was a communicant of St. Paul's Church of SS. Isidore and Maria Parish in Glastonbury. He was an avid card player who played cards weekly, he enjoyed bowling, and loved going miniature golfing with his grandsons. He also liked going to the Glastonbury Senior Center, East Hartford Senior Center, and rooting on his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most of all, Bob was a loving, hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother and a sincere, honest, generous gentleman with a big heart to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife Rose, Bob is survived by his devoted son, Kevin P. Vaillancourt and his wife Meghan of Hudson, Ohio; and three cherished grandsons, Carter Vaillancourt, Tyler Vaillancourt, and Jordan Vaillancourt. He also leaves his sister, Diane Edwards and her husband Henry of Hernando, FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, former customers, and dear friends.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, (Section 1), Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. The D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements. We met Bob many years ago when our parents were all at the Herbert Clark house. Our daughter and family shared the first floor of his home. This began years of a wonderful friendship. We had such a good time playing setback a couple times a week. Bob´s fun loving nature (with a little teasing thrown in) will never be forgotten. RIP Buddy
