Douglas Craig Stout

Brenham, Texas - Douglas Stout was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 23, 1959 with a disability he struggled against heroically. He died peacefully on July 12, 2025.

Doug attended the Texas School for the Blind in Austin and became a proud employee of the Light House for the Blind in Fort Worth. He was a devoted sports fan and music lover. He taught us all profound lessons in compassion.

Preceded in death by his father, Bob Joe Stout, and grandparents Kenneth and Helean Pitts, Hershel Stout, and Jewell Brown, all of Fort Worth. Survived by his mother Janis Pitts Stout and stepfather Loren D. Lutes, of Brenham; brothers Alan (Shanna) of Houston, Richard (Christina Dahl) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Steven (Irina) of Bismarck, North Dakota; stepmother, Peggy Stout of Plano; stepbrothers: Daniel Lutes (Molly) of Austin, David Lutes (Angela) of Manchester, Michigan, and Stephen Anthony of Plano; stepsisters: Laura Lutes Gomez (Angel) of Houston, Rebekah Lutes of Columbus, and Karen Cowley of Dallas. Also an uncle, Kenneth Pitts, Jr., (Shahla) of Fort Worth, an Aunt, Peggy Cox of Keller, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he treasured.

A memorial service will be held at Brenham Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
