Elizabeth Desmarais Obituary
Contoocook, NH - Elizabeth L. (Warner) Desmarais, a longtime resident of Contoocook, NH, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 69, from heart failure.
Betty, as she was known by most, was born in Northampton, MA to Don and Claire Warner formerly of East Concord, NH. After graduating from Concord High School in 1972, Betty went on to earn Bachelor and Masters degrees in the field of computer programming and analysis. She held various professional positions in those fields at Harvard and Dartmouth Colleges.
Upon retirement, Betty followed her passion for sewing and opened the Lizzy Stitch Quilt and Longarm business with a shop originally in Warner, NH, then later moving the business to Concord. She was involved with the Contoocook Artisans, a juried group of talented crafters. In her earlier years, Betty was an avid cyclist along with her partner Bob. Some of their more notable treks included biking in the Moab Desert, across the European countryside and Betty also embarked on a coast-to-coast ride from the Pacific northwest to Hampton Beach, NH. Their travels also took them to Baja, CA, dog sledding in Alaska and a river cruise in Africa. One of her more recent accomplishments was becoming very proficient at playing her ukulele at open-mic nights and for her and her family's entertainment. She kept in touch with her many friends on Facebook often sharing photos of her vegetable and flower gardening projects. Her greatest passion in life was her family.
She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Craig Warner and Judy Blackwell and is survived by her son Chris, his wife Ashley and their children Haile, Sutton and Davis, son Mike and his fiancé Lindsay Hunt, her siblings Donna, Dale, and Jennifer Warner, and her very "Significant Other" Bob Wilson, along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on November 17th, 2023 at 11:00am, at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Clinton Street in Concord, followed by an interment service at Blossom Hill Cemetery in West Concord.
The Bennett Funeral Home 209 N. Main St. Concord, NH 03301is assisting the family with arrangements.

Still cannot believe Betty has passed...She was a fun classmate and at the 50th reunion she was the easiest to recognize as she never changed in looks or her friendly fun personality! She is missed !!! It´s hard to believe a year had already passed!!

I was privileged to be Betty's second Mom after marrying her Dad in 1983. She was a good friend and we shared a typical second family relationship. She and her sons were always welcome and we had a lot of great times together, memories that I will always treasure. I pray and send condolences to her siblings and want them to know they are forever in my heart .

My wife Nora Ratcliffe and I knew Betty through the stationary bicycle exercise class (aka spinning) at Dartmouth in the early 2000s. Betty was an instructor, and you always knew her classes would be challenging and fun. We are very sad to learn of her passing.

I am heartbroken by Betty´s passing. I have known her for many years as a Concord High School, class of 1972 classmate. She and I- as well as others- worked on almost every class reunion. When Betty came to a meeting, you knew that she would keep you laughing. She was funny, fun and a wonderful and vibrant person. My heartfelt sympathies to her family. May she rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to read about Betty. Lots of happy memories of being her coworker and also good friend back in the 70´s. My deepest condolences to her family. I will miss our FB posts reminiscing of times we shared.
