Wavil Edward Woodworth, age 87, of Allison Park, PA formerly of Hernando, FL and originally from Erie, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was born in Erie, PA in 1936, son of the late Francis and Wyneth Woodworth.
Wavil graduated from Academy High School in 1954 and worked at General Electric while raising a family with his beloved wife of 61 years, Julie. He was a long-time member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and enjoyed spending his time volunteering at the church, traveling and spending time with family. After retirement, they relocated to their new home of 20 years in Hernando, FL where they continued to travel, valued the company of their dogs and looked forward to visits from their kids and grandkids.
Survivors include two sons, Todd Woodworth (Shelle) of Marion, OH and Brian Woodworth (Karen) of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Gilbert Woodworth; four grandchildren, Alanna and Aiden Woodworth, and Aaron and Garrett Webb; along with many nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dog, Nicky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Woodworth; three brothers, Henry, Guy and Dennis Woodworth; and his sister, Coralee David.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., Erie, PA 16510, on Saturday, October 28th from 11 am to 1 pm. The interment with prayers will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery Chapel conducted by Rev. Nicholas Mihaly.
