I've been thinking a lot about my Auntie Marion, who passed away a few weeks ago and I'm sad that I cannot attend her funeral. She was one of my mother's best friends and my godmother. I have fond memories of visits with her in Dawlish Devon as a child, teenager and later in life as an adult.

Legend has it that she was the one that pushed my mother towards my father at the International Club at the University of Bath so had it not been for her, my parents may not have even met!

I'll never forget her mischievous smile (that's her on the right with my mum), her low yet soft voice, the smell of her perfume (wish I could remember the name), the Polos she always had on supply in her handbag, the late night laughter and chatter from her and my mum when we visited her. As a child, I wanted to be like her and imagined living in a cute seaside home - as she did.

I'm so glad that she found love later in life with Maurice and so grateful for our final chat and hug last summer in England. I wish we'd had more time together.

Love to her brother Geoff and sister-in-law Diana as they say goodbye to their dear sister next week. If there is a Heaven, I'm sure she's found my mum and they're having a grand old time being reunited.
