Wilma DOW Obituary

We are very sad to announce Wilma passed away peacefully after a brave and dignified battle on Thursday 8 May 2025, at Atawhai Assisi in Hamilton, at the age of 88. Dearly loved wife of the late George, Mum of Rex and Colleen, Lynne and Pete and Judith and Stewart, and Gran to many. A private family function has taken place as per Mum's wishes. Many thanks to Hospice and Huntly District Nurses for their love and care of Mum and the compassionate and caring staff of Atawhai Assisi for making Mum's last days comfortable and full of dignity. Remembering your wonderful mother, Wilma. Wishing you all peace and comfort at this sad time.
The last time I saw Wilma was when I drove her and Dad to Waihi and back. Wilma filled me in on all our family history and also I heard of her huge involvement in the founding of Kimihia Home and Hospital. A truely remarkable community minded lady.
