Passed away suddenly on Friday, 22 July 2016. Beloved son of Poata and Kaka (deceased). Loved brother of Wally & Martha, Rita (deceased) & Edward McKinnon, Te Kui (deceased) & Hone Kingi, Tira (deceased), Rod & Rose, Marie & Ziona. Dear husband and loving partner of 40 years to Tui-ann (McKinnon). Loved Dad of Tamati, Kepa & Indi, and Riti. Treasured father of Shaun, Toinette, Te Manu, Toko & Tammy and Miri. Loving Pop to all his nephews and nieces. Best grandad of Damian & Tracey, Kruz & Shilom, Kyrahn & Turongo. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Whatarau is laying in state at Aramiro Marae where his funeral service will be held on Thursday, 28 July 2016 at 11.00am.
