Vince and Brenda were legends. I first encountered them as a teenager in the early 70's at Marysville gatherings along with the late Father Tom Keyes. Prayer Meetings at Compton Street where Vince would greet you with a smile and Godly encounters with prayer and much joy were the order of the day.

Dear Smith family sincere condolences at this sad time of Vinces passing. My husband and I met at Vince and Brendas lovely home in Compton st, many years ago now. We became part of their wonderful prayer group during the late seventies early eighties. That was such a wonderful time for all involved, as our dear Holy Spirit became manifest in a truely Revival way. Nothing was ever the same after meeting Him. Vince and Brenda had experienced this same experience too and as a result begain a weekly prayer group for old and young. They were such good and loving Pasters of the gospel of our dear Jesus and willingly prayed for us all. And also I have to mention how much fun we also had in their house, and much laughter as they willingly shared their home for occasions such as engagements, birthdays, wedding anniversarys. Brenda had a wonderful gift of hospitality and she and Vince made all these occasions so enjoyable. Then sadly Brenda became very ill and Vince took great care of her enabling her to stay at home until she passed away. Years later he became a Catholic priest and served as such for many years. Dear Vince you have served our Lord so well through many and varied trials and we would like to wish you a joyest homecomming to Heaven. See you later dear friend.xxx

Sincere Sympathy to you, Julian, Louise and families: including the Parishioners Fr Vince ministered to in his years of Priestly life.
The earliest memories of Fr Vince go back to the days when Vince, Brenda, you, Julian, Martin and Louise were seated in a front seat at the Basilica at Sunday Mass. Later on; the days in Compton Street bring many, many great memories.
Rest In Peace Fr Vince, good and faithful servant.
