Varvara was a dear friend of mine at Peabody College. We had long meaningful talks that helped me learn about myself. Notes from those years - 1955-1959 - reminded me of what a fine person she was. Hoping to find her, I noticed your tributes on Facebook. I am not on Facebook, preferring to communicate with friends through email (mine is [email protected]. Just wanted you to know that this old college friend admired your mother very much. Martha Henegar

Around 2003 Jeanne brought her mother over to lunch at my daughter Kim and Richard's at Mosman. We all enjoyed her intelligent conversation each time containing her ever present humour. In spite of the distance, over the years Varvara and I developed a mutual respect and affection which I have always cherished.

Varvara grief is natural but I turn the sad loss into happy memories instead. So I am thinking only how lucky I have been to have your friendship and your affection. Thank you Varvara. I miss you. My love to you always. Neil.
