To my funny, smart, kind, friend Steven,
Thank you for the fun times on the farms, showing me he ropes, and the many laughs you gave me (usually ay my expense).
Thank you for always taking an interest in anything and everything English, even if it was just to impress me - it did!
Thank you for being a champion of your industry, and jumping in and helping me stand up for mine.
You really will be missed.

Steve you will be sorely missed. The way you determinedly went about fighting for those in the agricultural sector ( and others) is unrivaled.
A humble man who was so good at explaining the science that is so often skewed and only one side is ever heard. You were an amazing educator. You were very intelligent and went about helping others to understand things in more simple terms. We loved getting to know you over the last few years in your capacity as Groundswell NZ emissions spokesperson and then later as a fellow DNZ candidate. We had some good laughs. A huge thanks to you Steve for everything. Much love to your friends and family who've lost their darling. We will remember you always Steve. Lots of love from Lee & Ross Smith & family. Xx

Rest in Peace and Love Steve. I personally would like to say a massive thank you for standing on the right side of history and working tirelessly in full support for the people. Our world could definitely do with more men like you that's for sure. I am greatful I had the chance to meet you here in Okato and Rahuto in Taranaki. ABSOLUTE LEGEND!
To Steve's family, my deepest condolences to you all. Such a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
GOD BLESS.

Steve, you were a wonderful man with such a kind heart & gentle soul. We really enjoyed not only watching you, but standing next to you - through your journey with Democracy NZ. I remember how nervous you were before your first big speech, but before we knew it, you were a total pro with the mic & audience alike, owning the room. It was so awesome to see. Gone way too soon friend. Sending all our love to the family. From Crystal, Harry, Karen & family

Steve, you will be missed by so many.
You were one of a kind. The work and dedication you put in for those in the NZ agricultural sector ( and others) was incredible and you are irreplaceable. Your intelligence, common sense and desire to make positive change for the every day person will never be forgotten. Ross and I have very fond memories of our time spent with you as part of Groundswell NZ and when we ventured into the political realm to try make good changes. You were a hardcase and we had some good laughs. Much love to your family and friends. Rest in Peace Steve. Love Ross and Lee Smith.
