Dearest Shirley, such an inspiration, just 2 weeks short of your 90th bday. Happy playing music with all those Lyric Players who have passed before you and loved you to bits. A VERY special person, yours Liz x

Shirley was a very kind and gentle lady. She was a treasured friend of my parents, Maryla and Johan Endert. They too enjoyed playing with the Lyric Players. Shirley was generous with her time and was an inspiration to many.
Another angel gone but not forgotten.

We were fortunate to meet and get to know Shirley when we were Mavis's neighbours in Te Aroha Street. We found Shirley great company and visits with her were always lovely experiences. We know how much pleasure her musical talents gave to many people. We are very grateful our paths crossed. Go well Shirley. Remembered with much fondness.

How sad to see this. I have fond memories of Shirley over many years - her musicianship, and gentle, wise encouragement and support . Rest in peace Shirley.

Shirley was s great friend of my late Grandmother Hazel Wilton and her daughter Molly. I remember her visits to our home with warmth as there was often laughter and always music. With love. Rest in peace. Heather Wilton (Clayton).

Fondest memories of the love and dedication of Shirley - Miss Wentworth for the early years. A teacher who became a family friend, also leading my mother in music making with the Lyric Players. Her beautiful, caring smile, her wisdom and her gentle faith are cherished forever. God bless you Shirley. With much love from Clare Corban-Banks (nee Annals), viola.
