I have only just found out about this and am so sorry to hear the news. And also of Bill's passing some time ago now. Deteriorating health problems have made me a bit of a hermit and life has been passing me by it seems - far more than I ever imagined.
On behalf of myself and my daughters, Riki and Céara, my sincere condolences. This is so sad.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Kia Kaha
Jon.

To the Smyth family,
Sorry to hear about the death of Sean Kieran.
I met his parents Bill and Evelyn Smyth at their home in Pio Pio about 15 years ago. Jon Smyth and his dad Fred Smyth and Ciera, Jon's daughter took me there. Fred Smyth was the son of James Smyth. James Smyth and my grandfather Philip O'Reilly were first cousins. Philip O'Reilly emigrated from Ireland in 1879 and James Smyth and his brother and sisters came later in the late 1800's. I have quite a lot of information on the Smyth family and if you are interested in seeing what I have, please get in touch with me.I have already written the book called "The O'Reilly's in New Zealand" which is available.

Kind Regards
