Sincere sympathy Heather and family at the passing of Russell.
I was in Auckland with my son at the time and only yesterday read the news in the first edition of the Waitomo News of the year.
Life changes for us at these events, but there for our comfort are the many precious memories that we can keep for ever.

Sending my deepest sympathy to Russell's family. It was lovely to meet Russell and pipe with him as a member of the Hamilton highlanders band.

Russell was a stalwart of the Waitetuna community. Always willing to help. Also a dedicated member of the Raglan Pipe band. Our deepest sympathy to you all.

Russell was a great neighbour to me...we always had interesting chats over the fence from time to time and would talk about many aspects of life.
Russell had an amazing knowledge of the bush and our environment.
He was logical in his thinking, methodical in his work and a very caring husband.
The day before Heather was due back from her trip to Britain..I was chatting to Russell over the fence and he had to end our conversation..saying..
"Dave I have a hell of a lot of housework to do mate ,and the house must be ready for Heather coming back..if I don't get it done,I shall be having to move in with you"....Panic..wife is about to return.
Russell is at peace now and once again I say, he will be truly missed.
As my neighbour over the fence..that's how I wish to remember him.
Go well Russell..Gob Bless You.
Cheers
Dave
