My deepest condolences to you all. I was a PhD student of Roy's from 1999-2022. If it wasn't for his support and mentoring I would not have achieved my PhD and had the opportunity to move back to the Genetic Epidemiology research field (my first love) where I still work today.

Roy was a fantastic mentor and lovely person to spend time with during my time in the TRU. We shared many glasses of wine, much fine food, and stories of faraway places. My deepest condolences to his family.

One of the great scientists with who I spent time at Lewes Country Grammar School Lewes Sussex as a fellow pupil in the early 1960s.
