Ron WATKINSON Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at home in Te Kowhai, surrounded by his loving whānau. Aged 82 years. Ron lived a rich and purposeful life as a farmer, skilled mechanic, and proud Chev man. Known for his intelligence, sharp wit and tireless work ethic, he faced every challenge with confidence and drive. After being given hours to live, that strength carried him through another 63 days. Dearly loved husband of Tuhi, devoted father of Rhys and Aaron, father-in-law of Sandra Pavic-Watkinson and Kellie Watkinson, and cherished Grandfather to Daisy and Arabella, Ron will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and warmth. A Tangi will be held at Tapapa Marae on Wednesday, April 9, from 11.00am (for one day only). All who knew and loved Ron are warmly invited to come and celebrate his life.

Ron made such an impression with everyone. He cared deeply for family and friends. My condolences to all who loved him. And condolences to his mate Don who was always there for him. Thanks Ron and Tuhi for connecting Don to us when we built your shed many years ago.

it is very hard what to say that even seems remotely worthy of my friend Ron, but he was a kind man who didn't take any rubbish, but always there to lend a hand or advice on the old Chevs, I will miss him, I can't make it to his farewell, so that saddens me, my thoughts go out to his Family.
