Sincere condolences to the Finn family. Being a big fan of Tim's and Neil's music for over 40 years now, I soon same to understand how their love of music was through Richard and Mary. We came to understand how closely knit the Finn family is, and realise how close they were to their Irish back-ground. Several of their musical clips where of family films. Richard, you gave the Kiwi culture a precious asset: a couple of the greatest of Aotearoa's musicians. In their music, you live on, and will live on for centuries to come. RIP Richard.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Mr. Richard Finn. As a longtime fan of his sons' music, I came to be well aware of the close bonds of this family.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Finn and thank you for helping to instill in your family such a love of togetherness, kindness and song.

I had been delivering "Meals On Wheels" for some time to Richard, never realising that he was the father of the famous Finn brothers.

One of my fondest memories of Richard was one day when delivering a meal, he just happened to mention that his son Neil was visiting and would I like to meet him. I thought nothing of it until Neil's face appeared around the corner ... I just about died! I had no clue. Such a lovely family.

Many of us were delighted to be in the presence of your Dad when Neil brought him 'on stage' (via the internet) at the Apollo in Manchester a few years back. It was the day before Neil's birthday. When a parent's love for their child is deep and unconditional, there is no better feeling on earth. Such a blessing. Wishing you Peace in your hearts.

Condolences to all the Finn family and friends of Richard. I've enjoyed the music of his sons Tim and Neil for many years. They often spoke of their father with warmth, humor, respect and love. They even had him participate in some concerts via Skype. I wish comfort and peace to those who loved Mr. Finn. Richard and Mary Finn left a wonderful legacy of 4 children, numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Richard and Mary shared their love of music with their family and this was lucky for us as Tim and Neil then shared their music with the world and their families. God bless you Mr. Finn.

Tim, Neil, Carolyn and Judy, the music shared by two of Richard's talented children created a bond that doesn't require personal acquaintance for the understanding of significant loss. My heart-felt sympathy to the entire family at Richard's passing. He has left behind a legacy that will continue to flow down through generations. He will be able to stand at his Father's feet, and say, my work here is done. It is time for me to rest. The pain passes, and the grief diminishes, but the love and memories remain forever strong.
