Homemade strawberry jam
A manly chicken stir fry
Cans of coke zero
And lots of eskimo pies
He loved his country calendar
And channel one news
But don't you dare change the channel yet!
Coz he's got a horse bet too
Steam trains and engines
Roy Orbison for a song
Firewood for alaska
Snoring deep and long
Deer hunting in the kawekas
Proud of his ute and vans
Half days if he felt like it
And a messy house just coz he can!
A kiwiana Grandad
What you saw was what you got
And if you say you'll stay for 3 days
You better know that's your lot!
But I love you Grandad to the moon and back,
And will miss your hearty laugh
You were taken from me much too soon
I want more than just a photograph
I'll miss you calling me ragamuffin,
Your Sunday calls at 7 in the morning
I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye
I just didn't realise you were going
But you lived your life to its fullest
And I knew you loved me too
So I'll say this now and feel it forever,
Rest easy Grandad, and know that I love you
Your Grandchild,

Dear Peter, thank you for our four wonderful, amazing children, your legacy and heritage for them, your love and being there during the good times and those troubled times. I am grateful to your family also for easing my passage into the New Zealand culture at a time when i was feeling all the angst of forced immigration as a 16 year old.
We almost made it through those turbulent "seventies", Peter. However, I will always treasure our good times together, and we had many, especially our time in Australia where you learned about hunting and began your love of the great outdoors. Thankyou too for your ongoing love of my Mum who passed just four weeks ago, your relationship with her lasting 47 years. For you both now, "the carnival is over", one of the songs we used to play on the juke box at the "statesman milk bar", never realising what was to be ahead for us.
I wish you God speed on the next leg of your journey Peter, to that "world of your own" another of the songs we chose, and may you find the peace we all strive for in this life, Arohanui, ka kite ano, Linda

To the Kenyon family.
I got to know Peter through my many visits to Hayes Engineering and over the years I built a huge respect for Peter. Peter, you were one of us older engineers who knew all the little "tricks of the trade" and we often discussed these during my visits. You were highly respected amongst your peers and will be sorely missed for your quick whip comments and that helping hand.
God bless you and rest in peace.
Your friend Ian Langey, ex Seco Tools.

In remembrance of Peter Kenyon. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Pete's sudden death and our heart goes out to his children and siblings as they come to terms with the loss of a much beloved father, grandfather and brother. May God hold you in the palm of His hand as you grieve and may He comfort you with His presence.
Much love and prayers Margaret (sister in law), Colin, Hannah, Jonathan and Sarah Cramp in London
