We have been deeply saddened by the passing of Paul. Taken too soon, he was a friend to so many. Paul has left a beautiful imprint on our hearts.
He was a true advocate for the smaller schools, believing firmly in being the best for the community we serve. We were lucky to have shared this kindred vision. Paul´s leadership, support and kindness will be forever missed.
Our heartfelt condolences are with Helen, Cameron, Emerson, Paul´s extended family and the Glenfield College community. As you hold onto the love and treasured memories you shared, we pray you all find the strength and comfort you need throughout this difficult time.
Our love and thoughts are with you all xx

Paul was one of my study buddies during the years of working towards our Masters degree at UNITEC in Auckland. I am in complete shock that he has been taken at such a prime time of his life. Paul was a principled man whose values and compassion have been the hallmark of his life of service especially in his role as a Principal. My sympathy and condolences to his family and to the entire teaching community that has been impacted by his sudden death. May he Rest In Peace.

When I reflect on the education I received at MAGS, a few teachers profoundly impacted my life, especially landing as fresh as I did from the Pacific Islands. Mr Mckinley was one of those teachers. His lessons live on in the little quotes he'd share which have continued to frame my values and outlook on things to this day.
I fondly remember Mr McKinley as he was my Year 10 Social Studies teacher. On my first day at MAGS, whilst bearly coping with a successive bombardment of culture shocks, I distinctly remember him briskly walking into (a rowdy) class (I think it was the 3 or 4th period) and diving straight into an evangelical-like lecture on the old saying "manners maketh man". I immediately took a shine to Mr McKinley because in the chaos I felt entering a completely new school system and experiencing a wave of new cultures, Mr McKinley's stern command of the room amongst the hotchpotch of boys was so familiar. It wasn't too different from the stern respect I was familiar with in Fiji. I never did tell him, but that if anything was the most normal thing about my first day at MAGS and it helped remind me that everything would be okay.
I am deeply grateful to have had the privilege of being taught by Mr McKinley and offer my thanks as well for his contributions to my life, and many others he taught along the way.
My family and I extend our heartfelt condolences from Fiji. It is our humble prayer that God's love, peace and comfort cloak them in their time of mourning.
Rest in Peace Sir. Until we meet again.

"How lucky am I to have had someone
who makes saying goodbye so hard"
Thank you for your friendship and the years we shared at MAGS.

Dear Mr Mckinley, If it wasn't for your decisions as a principal and leader of Glenfield College. I along with many other students would not have been able to succeed to the ability we have. We are truly grateful for your impact on our lives. Thank you and rest peacefully.

Paul, we are deeply upset and shocked at your sudden passing. Glenfield College will not be the same without you but what an amazing leader and game changer you were for the school and community. Neil absolutely loved catching up with you during his time on the BOT and also on the sideline at football. James enjoyed the Liverpool v Manchester United banter and of course his friendship and guidance throughout his high school years. I enjoyed seeing you throughout the years and loved your welcoming hug on each occasion. Our thoughts are with your darling family at this very sad time. Rest in love. Anne and Neil Crooks
